Committees and Task Forces

The Sierra Foothills Unitarian Universalists is a congregation and an institution. That means there are lots of tasks and teams and projects and programs and that means - committees! Hooray for those who serve on committees and those who chair them! More information about each of these committees and task forces can be found sprinkled throughout the website under the pages appropriate to their areas of interest and expertise. Membership
- helps new people to determine if they'd like to take the Path to Membership
- provides oversight for several Sunday morning functions

Worship
- assists the co-ministers to lead worship
- works with guest speakers who lead worship when the co-ministers are off
- ensures quality worship all year long

Finance
- manages all financial information for the church
- works with Stewardship and Fundraising committees to promote generosity

Social Action
- coordinates several groups working to promote social justice in the community and the world

Children/Youth Religious Education
- composed of parents and educators
- promotes excellence in Unitarian Universalist religious education for our children and youth

Adult Programs/Religious Education
- offers a variety of one-time and ongoing programs
and religious education for adults

Communications
- produces monthly newsletter
- maintains web page
- produces other informational and promotional
material as needed
Committee on Ministry
- works on behalf of the whole congregation to ensure right
relationship with all things ministerial

Building and Grounds
- responsible for building maintenance and appearace
- organizes 2 work parties during the year where volunteers
help with cleaning and repairing
Library
- Maintains and organizes lists of materials available for
check-out by members
- orders books requested by members or ministers

Staffing Task Force
- appointed by the Board of Trustees in 2011
- charged with clarifying documentation for our staff
and to determine the future needs as we continue to grow
- determine what staffing impact there will be as we
go to two services
