Climate Footprint Project
Water is life. Too little and communities wither and die; too much and they are drowned or swept away. And global warming may turn our current water difficulties into abject tragedies. With this in mind, the Sierra Foothills Unitarian Universalist Social Justice Committee (SJC) is initiating our Climate Footprint Project. Your participation is voluntary and any personal information collected will remain confidential unless you allow otherwise. Your name will not be reported with your responses.
The goals of the project are:
- Engage as many members of the congregation as are willing in an effort to reduce our personal and congregational carbon footprints.
- Document these efforts and use the stories and the data from the project to educate ourselves and, hopefully, the wider community

Climate Footprint Calculation:
We encourage you to come to the February 12 (12:30pm in the Sanctuary), where we will provide assistance with completing the carbon footprint calculations. If you are unable to attend the workshop and feel you need help with the online calculator, please contact a member of the Climate Footprint Team.
Note: Individual household carbon footprint information is optional and will only be used anonymously, to assess congregation-wide carbon footprint levels and help track changes over the course of this project.
If you would like to go ahead and begin your household carbon footprint calculation, please go to: coolclimate.berkeley.edu/calculator to begin the process. Using this calculator, you will be able to compile your current greenhouse gas emissions in units of tons, CO2 equivalent per year. Once you have calculated your totals which may be found on the last page of the online footprint calculator, enter them in the form below and submit them along with your comments.
