“Joseph Priestly and the Invention of Fizz”April 26, 2026 - 10:00amUnitarian scientist Joseph Priestly is most famous among modern scientists for the discovery and isolation of oxygen in 1774. But during his lifetime, Priestley's scientific reputation rested on his invention of carbonated water, for which he has been called the father of the soft drink. We will learn about the controversies that surrounded his life and hear from the man himself.

Communities NOT Cages Saturday 4/25 - 4:40pm - 6:00pm
Indivisible Auburn is organizing a rally on April 25th: "Communities Not Cages" to oppose Trump’s mass detention agenda. We will meet at the Auburn/Placer County Historic Courthouse for the rally against ICE detention and abuse. For our "Communities" portion of the event, we will be doing a FOOD DRIVE for our local food closet. We will have a table set up in the small parking lot across from the Courthouse ( Air Pollution Control). You can drive through and drop off non-perishable foods. Highly desired are baking supplies (flour and sugar), canned goods (meat, fruit, soup, chili) peanut butter, dry goods (oatmeal, cereal, pasta, rice) cooking oil, diapers, laundry soap, and hygiene items. Cash donations are welcome!
