Plant a Tree!

SFUU’s Mission Earth Team joined the Roseville Urban Forest Foundation (RUFF) in a tree planting event on April 13th near Nichols Park in Roseville! It was a rainy but fun day and the volunteers present planted 150 trees!

Planting trees in urban areas, like Roseville, helps alleviate the problem of urban heat islands, a phenomenon which worsens as temperatures rise due to climate change.  Much gratitude to  the Roseville Urban Forest Foundation, which provided the trees, the tools, and even dug the holes!

See below for photos from this event (fun even in the rain!):

RUFF sponsors tree-planting events throughout the year in the Roseville area (the Sacramento Tree Foundation does something similar in the Sacramento area). See RUFF’s Events web page or contact RUFF to find out the dates of their future events!
